The NBA has officially released the 2014-2015 schedule for this upcoming NBA season. With all the activity and story lines occurring in the past few months, an exciting season awaits. Here are some notable games that be watched. (**Note I did not include any Christmas games because everybody is most likely watching those games that day.)

October 30

New York Knicks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers                         Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Clippers

For every Non-Lakers fan, these are probably the two games that will get the most interest in the opening week and they just happen to be on the same day. Cancel all plans that day and get comfortable on your couch.

Carmelo vs. LeBron: the matchup that is always enjoyable to watch. The 2003 draftees will be going head-to-head with LeBron James on his new team and Melo trying to prove that staying in New York was a good decision.

For the second game we have the Los Angeles Clippers, who are excitingly under new ownership and ready to get revenge on a competitive playoff series last season. The Thunder will have to continue to prove they are superior even though they haven’t made a big roster change since the James Harden trade.

November 19

San Antonio Spurs vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The NBA champs vs. the Cavaliers’ new Big Three. We all know the rivalry LeBron has against these Spurs and now he’ll add Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love into the mix. This will be a small indicator if the Cavaliers’ new-look team can compete against the elite.

November 26

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

This might be a game where the play is low quality, but we have Jabari Parker against Andrew Wiggins in their first NBA showdown. It will be fun to see which rookie will get the better of one another in their very young careers.

January 15

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Los Angeles Lakers

There hasn’t been a Kobe vs. LeBron matchup in a season and a half and we all know how entertaining a Lakers game can be. People are quick to forget how great Kobe is now that LeBron reigns supreme. We’ll see if Kobe can show us a few old tricks.

January 31

Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors

This will be the second meeting between the two teams but this game is set at Oracle Arena where it is ‘rocking’ every night. This will be an exciting matchup between two fast paced teams who love to shoot the ball. With the new addition of Isaiah Thomas – who is familiar with the Warriors after playing in the Kings and Dubs rivalry for a few years – will be ready to go lead the Suns to victory. This is also a matchup between young coaches who were going to head-to-head as players in the 1990s in Jeff Hornacek and Steve Kerr. The guards in this game will be too much to handle in Goran Dragic, Thomas, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson.
