Since the Chicago Bulls round two playoff loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Tom Thibodeau’s head coaching job has been up in the air. Now it’s official, as the Bulls have dismissed Thibodeau Thursday morning, ending his five-year tenure with the organization.

His Bulls coaching record ends at an impressive 255-139, including a trip to the Eastern Conference Finls in his first season. Thibodeau brought a tough defensive mindset to the Bulls team that has been plagued with injuries to their stars, especially point guard Derrick Rose. Some blame Thibodeau for the injuries because of how hard he played his starters. Though his tenure with the Bulls is over, his defensive mentality will stay with the team in the future.

Many people have speculated that Thibodeau will continue his coaching career with the New Orleans Pelicans, who recently fired Monty Williams. No matter where he goes, he will bring a tough attitude to his new team. He left that mark during his time in Boston, where he helped them become one of he best defenses in the NBA, and his defense helped the Celtics contain Kobe Bryant in the Finals, which was huge in winning the NBA Championship, the only of his career.

Wherever he ends up in the future, Coach Thibodeau will continue to be one of the best coaches in the NBA.
