Conor Gillaspie Heading To The Los Angeles Angels

This season with the White Sox, Gillaspie is batting average of .237 with three home runs, 15 RBI and an OBP of .276. Even though his stats are lower than 2014, Gillaspie has provided solid depth for Chicago.

With the recent struggles for the White Sox, it could be assumed that Gillaspie would still be in a White Sox uniform if, hypothetically, the Whte Sox were contending. However, now that they are behind, the White Sox are rebuilding and unloading unneeded contracts.

There is a lot to like about Gillaspie; he is a good hitter and has shown potential to become a 15+ home run hitter. 

The Angels are getting a player who will compete for the vacant third base spot with starter David Freese out for the next two weeks with an injury.

It is a relatively cheap option for the Angels, as they only had to give up cash for their new starting third baseman. Gillaspie will take over for Taylor Featherston, who is currently batting .130 on the year.
