Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has already stirred up trouble at the team’s training camp. During the team’s scrimmage, the last play in fact, Bryant and cornerback Tyler Patmon got into a scuffle in which punches were thrown. The two had to be separated by other teammates.

Patmon, a second year corner out of Oklahoma State, was taking first team snaps for Morris Claiborne at the time of the incident.

Prior to the fight, Bryant and Patmon were jawing at each other and took the scrimmage to a level of competitiveness it was not intended for. Tony Romo was the first to pull away Bryant, before the team was vigorously trying to pull the two apart.

A video was posted of the fight by Jon Machota.

After practice was over, coach Jason Garrett would talk to Bryant for a few minutes before Bryant went straight to the locker room, ignoring media and reporters. He wasn’t scheduled to meet with the media, but later decided to go out and talk.

Bryant had this to say for himself:

“At the end of the day he wasn’t going to back down and I wasn’t going to back down and you seen us: We shook hands, we hugged and we respect one another,” Bryant said.

Many doubted that Bryant would even show up to camp before his contract was signed. Now it has been signed, he is already in trouble. This should concern the Cowboys, but the fact that he later went out to talk to the media is very promising and shows Bryant is becoming more and more mature.

Now that Patmon and Bryant are respecting one another, the Cowboys can put their sights back on completing training camp and getting on track to the Super Bowl.
