The recent releasing of Harry Douglas had left the Atlanta Falcons with a void at the wide receiver position; behind Julio Jones and Roddy White, the Falcons needed a third wide receiver for Matt Ryan to throw to. The possible answer to this issue has been solved by the signing of former Washington Redskins receiver Leonard Hankerson.

Hankerson, a third round pick in 2011, has had limited production throughout his NFL career. He has recorded just over 1,000 receiving yards and four touchdowns in his career, a majority of it coming in his first three seasons. In the 2013 season, Hankerson tore his ACL, and remained on the PUP list for the majority of the 2014 season. Hankerson, now reunited with the Shanahan family, can give Matt Ryan a much needed deep-threat to throw to.
