2015 NBA Summer League: What you’ve missed

We’re two days into the NBA Orlando Summer League, where the league’s young prospects come to showcase their talents and show where they belong on an NBA roster. A quick recap of what notable performances you may have missed while you were out celebrating 4th of July:

•Indiana Pacers first round pick Myles Turner had an excellent debut, putting up 20 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in the Summer League Opener

• Second year player Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic has the top performance so far, posting 22 points and 18 rebounds including 2-5 from three. Orlando’s first round pick this year, Mario Hezonja, had 12 points on 3/8 shooting including the game winning three pointer. Teammate Elfrid Payton vitally struggled with seven points on 3/10 shooting.

• Detroit Pistons top ten pick Stanley Johnson has shown glimpses of his future greatness in two summer league games so far, posting 13 on 5/8 FG in game one and then 24 points on 10/14 FG with nine rebounds and three steals in game two.

• Charlotte Hornets first round pick Frank Kaminsky has two solid performances under his belt to begin his career. In game one, Kaminsky put up 19 points (4-8 3PT) with 12 rebounds, followed by a 14 point outing on 6/8 FG with eight rebounds in game two.

• The Harrison twins of the University of Kentucky have shown they are deserving of NBA roster spots. Andrew Harrison, with the Memphis Grizzlies, has put up 17 total points on 5/13 shooting and five assists in two games. Aaron Harrison, with the Charlotte Hornets, impressively put up 10 points, five rebounds and three steals in game one before posting 16 points, eight assists and four rebounds the following outing.

• Grizzlies’ highly sought after two guard prospect Jordan Adams put up 20 points in the only game he’s played in the summer league.

• Justise Winslow of the Miami Heat has put up 15 points on 4/8 FG and 14 points on 3/10 FG in his two summer league games so far. Winslow threw a perfect lob pass to Tyler Johnson with .4 seconds left to win their second game against the Brooklyn Nets

• Ryan Boatright of the Brooklyn Nets posted 23 points on 7/14 shooting and 5/8 3PT earlier today against the Miami Heat.
