The Cincinnati Bearcats win in Louisville in a game that was an absolute thriller against the Purdue Boilermakers. This was a game that had just about everything, buzzer beaters, dramatic moments, and even overtime.

To say that the final two minutes of regulation were stuffed with drama would be an understatement. Leading 51-49 Purdue’s Dakota Mathias drilled a long three pointer to stretch the lead to five, followed by two blown opportunities by Cincinnati and two free throws by Jon Octeus gave Purdue a 56-49 lead. The Bearcats would storm back though, a three by Kevin Johnson made it 56-52 with 43 seconds left. Then a layup by Troy Caupain made it a two point game. After numerous free throws and drama filled moments, Troy Caupain tied the game with an incredible layup with no time left in regulation.

Simulate to a minute left in OT, Cincy’s Farad Cobb and Jon Octeus trade layups to set the score at 66-65 with seven seconds left and Troy Caupain at the free throw line. Caupain would miss the front end of the one-and-one, which lead to Purdue’s Vince Edwards missing a three at the buzzer, and Cincinnati moving on.

Cincinnati’s next opponent will be the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats. Regardless of Purdue’s devastating loss, this was an iconic game giving the viewers of what is left to come for the rest March Madness.
