The Conference Championship round of the NFL Playoffs kicks off at 3:05 today. So I figured I would follow up my Madden Simulations for the Divisional round with more for this weekend. I made sure that all depth charts were as up to date as possible. I even combed through them myself to make sure no injured players were in. Now, let’s see what Madden thought of this weekends Conference Championship games. I just want to reiterate that these games and stats are simulated by Madden NFL 15, none of this is related in any way, shape or form to the real NFL Playoffs.

Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks

Most people see the Seattle Seahawks as being an impossible team to beat. Not many people were giving the Packers a chance leading up to this game. However, at this point, everyone should know to never count out Aaron Rodgers. In this game, the Packers were expected to be shut down by Sherman and the rest of the Legion of Boom.

However, Rodgers came looking for blood. He completed 69 percent of his passes for 408 yards and four touchdowns with only two interceptions. Wilson wasn’t great, but he wasn’t too shabby either. Wilson completed 59 percent of his passes for 254 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Lynch carried the Seahawks offense, carrying the ball 16 times for 145 yards and a touchdown. Lacy wasn’t bad either for the Packers though, taking 14 carries for 83 yards. James Starks also chipped in 67 yards and a touchdown. The big story of the day though, was wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who shred Richard Sherman.

Rodgers didn’t throw his way once in week one, but this week it was different. Nelson caught 10 balls for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Although not all of those catches were over Sherman, more than half were. When it was not Nelson burning Sherman though, Cobb was. Randall Cobb had 137 yards as well. The best Seahawks receiver was Doug Baldwin who hauled in 80 yards and a touchdown.

The most important defensive player of the game was not Richard Sherman, he wasn’t even on the Seahawks. It was Julius Peppers of the Green Bay Packers. Peppers racked up three sacks in what ended up being a huge win. The Packers are headed to the big game.

Final Score: Green Bay Packers (44) – Seattle Seahawks (26)

Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots

In the Tom Brady era, the Patriots are 12-4 against the Colts. The big question this weekend was, can they keep it up? The game ended up being a lot more low scoring than one might have thought. In fact, both quarterbacks were more or less taken out of the game.

Tom Brady completed only 47 percent of his passes for 139 yards a touchdown and two interceptions! Luck had a better game passing for 279 yards one touchdown and one interception. However, that touchdown was the only one his team scored. Blame it on the rain if you must, but both quarterbacks played below their potential and it was certainly disappointing to watch.

For the Patriots, Shane Vereen racked up 100 yards on 25 carries as well as a touchdown. While LeGarrette Blount took his 10 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown. The Colts best running back for the day was Daniel “Boom” Herron, who failed to bring the boom this game, running for only 45 yards on 21 carries.

Darrelle Revis did his job on Donte Moncrief, holding him below 35 yards, but they allowed Reggie Wayne to go for 99 yards, and TY Hilton to go for 83. Despite only having 42 yards, Gronk was still able to catch a touchdown. In the end, the Colts defense’s efforts were not recognized because the offense couldn’t get past the Patriots tough defense. The Patriots win an ugly one and advance to their sixth superbowl since 2000.

Final Score: Indianapolis Colts (13) – New England Patriots (21)

I would just like to say one more time, that this article is not a recap, but just a fun prediction article, courtesy of Madden NFL 15.
