New York Mets Acquire Kelly Johnson and Juan Uribe

The New York Mets and Atlanta Braves have agreed on a deal that would send third baseman Juan Uribe and utility man Kelly Johnson to New York. Joel Sherman has also reported that the Mets are sending ‘young arms’ to Atlanta. Check back soon, as ISN will have the details posted as they become available.

Update- 6:52 PM

ISN has learned that right handed pitcher John Gant is one of the players going to Atlanta. Gant pitched in Single A and Double A for the Mets while compiling a 6-5 record to go along with a 3.72 ERA in 17 games

 

Update- 7:03 PM

The full deal is now expected to be Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson to New York in exchange for John Gant and Rob Whalen. Both right handed pitchers in the Mets organization. Whalen compiled a 4-5 record with a 3.36 ERA in Single A St. Lucie this season to go along with 61 strikeouts in 83 innings.
