Miami Heat get Dwyane Wade Back

The Dwyane Wade leaving Miami rumors can finally be squashed…for now at least.

The 33-year-old shooting guard has re-signed with the franchise that he was won three NBA championships with.

The deal is only one year, but Wade will get the $20 million dollars that he was been asking for.

Easily the greatest player in Miami Heat franchise history, it was no secret that the Heat desperately wanted to keep Wade around.

However, Wade was linked to several rumors that said he wanted to jump ship to the Cleveland Cavaliers to join his old teammate and superstar LeBron James.

Wade was also rumored to have mutual interest with the Los Angeles Lakers, but there was never any more said about it after the initial gossip.

All of this came after the Heat gave Wade a low offer, upsetting their franchise player. But now, it looks as if Wade will happily return to the place he has called home for his entire 12-year NBA career.

Wade, who has battled knee troubles for a few years now, will bring his leadership and experience to a very talented Heat squad that includes fellow 2003 draftee Chris Bosh, recently resigned point guard Goran Dragic, and the tenth selection in this year’s draft, Justice Winslow.

The reasoning behind the short length of Wade’s new deal is unknown, but I suspect either retirement or a bigger deal due to the cap going up in 2016.

Either way, I’m sure the Miami Heat organization and its fans are estatic to get their guy back.
