Two seasons ago, Seattle finally won something. Not only did the Seahawks win, but the city did as well. The Seahawks are the team we people in Seattle depend on, when we want good results.

When the Seahawks won Super Bowl 48, the city was on fire. The streets were full, music was blasting, and there was pure joy and happiness sounding the city. After losing a couple players in free agency and signing a few others, the Seahawks and their fans were ready for another one.

The Seahawks started off last season by blasting the Packers 36-16, leading to the fans and NFL experts to think this Seahawk team may just go all the way once again. The next week the Seahawks would lose to the San Diego Chargers by a score of 30-21. Seattle, however, kept their composure, knocking off Denver 26-20 in OT the following week. They would then continue to beat the Redskins the next week and then lose back-to-back games to the  Dallas Cowboys and the St. Louis Rams. During the Rams game, Percy Harvin was traded to the New York Jets  for only draft picks and reports came out that he was a locker room cancer. Now lets skip to week 11, The Seahawks were 6-4, after a loss to the Chiefs, and everyone was worried. At the time, Arizona had the division in the bag, and all the experts were doubting Seattle.

After that key week 11 loss, the Seahawks won five games in a row with blowout wins over Arizona twice, including a 35-6 win in Arizona. They also blew out the 49ers twice, including a 19-3 win on Thanksgiving night. By the time the 4th quarter rolled around, the place was empty, or pretty close to it.During the five game win streak, they went to Philly and knocked off the Eagles 24-14. Then, to end the season they would blast the Rams 20-6 in Seattle.Over the five game win streak the Seahawks would outscore their opponents 134-39 and that win streak propelled the Seahawks to the NFC west crown, and the NFC’s number one seed.

Now the postseason rolls around and the Panthers get blasted in the Divisional round in Seattle 31-17. So, after the Packers knock of Dallas, we come down for a matchup, that started the season: The Seahawks and the Packers. At halftime, it was 16-0 Packers and Hawks fans were getting nervous. However, Seattle would score in the third quarter to cut the lead to 16-7. Hope was still slim though as Green Bay would hit a field goal to push the lead to 19-7. Yet, a Russell Wilson run would make the lead 19-14.  Seattle got the ball back, and with 1:25 Marshawn Lynch would explode for a 24 yard rushing touchdown. On the very next play Wilson would float the ball up high and Luke Wilson would make a great catch in terrible coverage to put Seattle up 22-19, but Mason Crosby would hit a field goal to tie it up 22-22 and overtime here we come.

Seattle wins the coin toss and after four Russell Wilson interceptions he would try to fight through it all to win the game. After all the struggles, failing to hit Jermaine Kearse 5 times, 4 of them ending in interceptions, he fought through. Russell Wilson hit Doug Baldwin to get yards down field, then 35 yards out, Russell Wilson would drop back and let it fly, the ball is traveling in air, Kearse has a beat on his defender, fans hold their breath.. The ball falls perfectly into Kearse’s hands and sends the Seahawks to their second consecutive Super Bowl and sending the city into a frenzy once again!

Now lets skip it over to Super Bowl 49, Seattle is now on a 7 game win streak and playing the Patriots. The Hawks went up by 10 in the 3rd quarter and confidence was as high as ever. Despite that,  Tom Brady put oh his best  Tom Brady persona  and he would lead his squad all the way back to score 14 straight. Seattle had a chance, Russell Wilson drives down field, hits Jermaine Kearse for a miraculous catch over Patriot defensive back Malcolm Butler to down near the goal line, Seattle hands it to Lynch who picks up yards. 2nd and Goal from inside the 10, Russell Wilson drops back to pass, Ricardo Lockette runs a slant Wilson sees him open, Lockette gets ready to make the grab…. Picked off by Malcolm Butler, The Seahawks lose 28-24, Heartbroken and devastated, it was sleepless in Seattle.

The Seahawks have since moved on, They lost Byron Maxwell to free agency, but picked up Jimmy Graham in a trade for center Max Unger. The Seahawk offense will be much better with Chris Matthews who caught 4 passes for 109 yards and 1 TD , Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, Paul Richardson and Jimmy Graham catching passes from Russell Wilson. Not to mention the opportunity to draft a good wide receiver.

The Seahawks, once again have one of the toughest schedules in the league but they are my pick to win the Superbowl because of what happened the year before. They are hungry with new weapons and the same mentality. Even though the NFC West will be a lot tougher this year, I believe the Seahawks may once again only lose four games, if they can stay healthy. Look out for the Seahawks to be dangerous once again this season.
