Steve Smith Sr. Set To Retire Next Season

One of the greatest receivers to play the game is set to hang it up. Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. announced today that this upcoming season is going to be his last season in the NFL. Smith is going into his 15 season in the NFL and his second season with the Ravens.

Last season for the Ravens. Smith had 79 receptions for 1,065 yards and six touchdowns. He was a big part of the Ravens offense with his speed and ability to catch the long ball. He played a big part in helping the team make it to the playoffs last season, winning the Wild Card round versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Smith will always be one of the best receivers in the NFL. He had great hands with good speed. Even today he has a big impact; he burns secondary even while not in his prime anymore.

Smith has done almost everything he could do in the NFL besides winning a Super Bowl. With this being his last season expect Smith to be working hard to get that ring that he desires to complete his already Hall of Fame career in the league. When next season comes around Smith will have an option of joining a sports network like ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS, or NFL Network and become a football analyst.
