In perhaps the greatest upset in NCAA Tournament history, the #15 seeded Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders defeated the #2 seeded Michigan State Spartans by a score of 90-81. The Spartans never led at any point in the game.

This game was the eighth time that a #15 seed upset a #2 seed, with the last time being in 2013 when Florida Gulf Coast upset the Georgetown Hoyas led by Otto Porter Jr.

What made this upset one of the best of all time was the fact that many believed Michigan State deserved to be a #1 seed, and that many believed they were true championship contenders. In fact, the Spartans were the most bet on team in the entire tournament.

For the Spartans, Player of the Year candidate Denzel Valentine was unable to get anything going all game, as he shot a mediocre 5-for-12 from the field with six turnovers.

Middle Tennessee State, a team that only got in due to their Conference USA Championship, will play the #10 Syracuse Orange in the Round of 32. Syracuse upset the #7 seeded Dayton Flyers in the Round of 64 by a score of 70-51.

While it is unknown if the Blue Raiders will be able to continue their success and ride their momentum into the Sweet 16, their game against Syracuse this Sunday will be a must-watch.
