After an extremely rough year in which the Tennessee Titans fired head coach Ken Wisenhunt after a 1-6 start to the season, the Titans received the top pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

The Titans main priority must be to protect quarterback Marcus Mariota, as he was injured for parts of his rookie season and was sacked a whopping 38 times. With the recent acquisition of former Pro Bowl running back DeMarco Murray, a bolstered offensive line is of utmost importance for the Titans.

While the offensive line is one of their top priotities, improving their defense is a necessity if the Titans want to contend in 2016.

While these are both glaring issues, they can easily be addressed with the first pick in the NFL Draft, as there are a many options that can step in and be instant-impact type players. With that being said, here are the top three options for the Titans with the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

1. Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss

As mentioned earlier, the Titans must protect Marcus Mariota if they want to be successful in 2016. Laremy Tunsil is the best offensive line prospect in the draft, and will be able to be an instant impact player for Tennessee. With Tunsil in Tennessee, Mariota should not be sacked and rushed as often as he was in his rookie season.

2. Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

Moving on to the other side of the ball, improving their pass rush is a top priority for the Titans in the offseason. Enter Joey Bosa, a playmaking defensive end who can simply dominate offensive lineman and pressure the quarterback with ease. Bosa is arguably the best overall player in this year’s draft, and has the potential to be a Pro Bowl caliber pass rusher.

3. Jalen Ramsey, FS/CB, Florida State

The last player who the Titans could be looking at is former Florida State safety and cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Outside of Jason McCourty, the Titans don’t have any playmakers in their secondary. Ramsey’s versatility makes him an extremely intriguing option here, as he could prove to be a Patrick Peterson type of player for the Titans.
