Former NFL wide receiver Braylon Edwards was arrested for DUI on the morning of May 4th. His blood alcohol was at .20, nearly double the legal limit. The news was first reported on Tuesday by TMZ.

Edwards has had a lot of trouble with the law over his career. DUI’s have been a problem for Edwards, as this is his second DUI arrest in the past five years. From 2002-2010, Edwards was pulled over for speeding an astonishing seven times.

During October of 2009, he was arrested for assault, in which he found himself in a fight with a local party promoter, outside of the Ultralounge and nightclub. He was charged and sentenced to a 180 day jail sentence and was fined $1,000.

In 2010, Edwards was arrested for drunk driving. During his breath test, he blew .18, which is twice the legal limit. This resulted in a DWI and he was sentenced to probation. These are just some of the examples of Edwards’s off the field troubles.

Edwards is currently a free agent. He last played in the NFL with the New York Jets during the 2012 season. During that season, he recorded 125 receiving yards on only ten receptions. He did not record any touchdowns that year.

Edwards is 32, and hasn’t played in three years. It seems as if his career has finally docked and he will begin the next stage of his life.
