UPDATE: The six year deal moving Suh to Miami is estimated to be $114 million with $60 million guaranteed according to Chris Mortensen. Michael Rothstein, of ESPN’s NFL Nation, later stated that the Detroit Lions offered Suh $17 million per year with $58 million guaranteed.

END OF UPDATE.

Although it may not legally happen until March 10, Ndamukong Suh and the Miami Dolphins seem to have formed an agreement sending Suh to Miami.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, Cole has claimed that a “high placed source,” has told him that Suh will be going to the Dolphins. Earlier this week we learned that the Dolphins will be making an extensive push for Suh. Cole also stated that the only team, at this time, chasing Suh was the Detroit Lions. Rumors had other potential suitors being the Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, and San Diego Chargers as potentially fits.

Suh was, and currently is, one of the most consistent name to be talked about throughout the National Football League’s (NFL), off season. With Suh demanding his pay check, and no state income tax in Florida, the Dolphins have seemed as an ideal fit for the defensive tackle.

With the addition of Suh, the Dolphins defense has become that much better. Suh will join defensive end Cameron Wake, and cornerback Brent Grimes as key components to the Dolphins’ defense. As for the Lions, this is potentially a large loss, but money, saved to be spent elsewhere, will be used to address their desires and necessities.

Looking forward for the Lions’ organization, will they address their loss through free agency, through the draft, or potentially neither and rely on their current roster? Unfortunately, we currently do not know, but what we do know is that Suh will, and has, commanded the top dollar for his services, regardless of his leave of Detroit. As of now, Miami will remain the front runners for Suh’s services.
