St. Louis Rams running back Zac Stacy has requested to be traded after the team selected Todd Gurley in last night’s draft.

The Rams shocked many with this pick. Many thought Tre Mason was the answer at running back and that Stacy proved himself as a valiant backup.

Gurley was the first running back drafted last night, the first time a running back was selected in the first round since Trent Richardson, Doug Martin, and David Wilson back in 2012.

Gurley is coming off ACL surgery, and is hoping to be ready for training camp.

Stacy is now the third running back on the Rams depth chart, and that may be why he is ready to run out the door.

Stacy had his starting  position taken away during week seven against the Seattle Seahawks. Ever since, Mason has been the guy the Rams look to hand the ball off to.

The young running back had a disappointing year last season, as he ran for 293 yards, and only found the end zone once in his five games.

Mason came in and put up 765 rushing yards, and found the end zone four times. Gurley was a man on a mission last season at Georgia, rushing for 911 yards and nine touchdowns in only six games.

As of right now, it looks as if Todd Gurley will be the starter, for a Rams team restructuring their lineup. The Rams now have a new identity on offense, as Nick Foles will be under center, with Gurley behind him. As for Stacy, I believe he will be traded to a team looking for a talented young back.
