Former Giants and Colts Running Back Ahmad Bradshaw has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor pot charge on Monday. The 29 year old reportedly did not have any other drugs on him, or in his car. Bradshaw will pay a fine of $351. Bradshaw also had a misdemeanor traffic charge, which was dropped. Bradshaw will have his Ohio license suspended for 6 months.

This was not Bradshaw’s first run in with the law. Back in 2004, he was dismissed from the Virginia football team for underage drinking and resisting arrest. Also, during his Junior year at Marshall, he stole a Playstation and was sentenced to two years in prison for petty larceny.

Bradshaw started his career back in 2007 when the New York Giants drafted him in the 7th round out of Marshall. Bradshaw went on to win 2 Super Bowls (XLII, XLVI) with the team.

He was released by New York in 2013, in order to clear room for emerging star, David Wilson. Bradshaw later would signed a deal with  the Indianapolis Colts. Unfortunately, he suffered a season ending neck injury during week 3, and didn’t return until the next season. Bradshaw was hurt again last year, and was not re-signed at the end of the season.

Bradshaw is currently a free agent, looking to find a new start on an NFL roster. Last season, He had 425 rushing yards, and 2 touchdowns on 90 carries, and eventually lost the starting job to Daniel “Boom” Herron.

The Colts signed Frank Gore so any return from Bradshaw to Indianapolis seemed unlikely. Gore spent his entire career in San Francisco and this will be his first year outside of that scenery.

Bradshaw’s future depends on if teams are willing to give him one more last chance, and let him prove himself as an NFL running back.
