Just seconds after the free agency opened for the NBA, New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis officially agrees to a five year and $145 MILLION maximum contract extension that will keep the future MVP in the Bay.

This ginormous amount of money will put The Brow at the top of the league’s highest paid players, as he will be making an average of $29 million per season; the deal also includes a player option after the fourth year that would make him a free agent after the 2020 season if he should choose to.

Davis, just 22-years-old, finished fifth in the NBA MVP voting poll in just his third season out of the University of Kentucky. He was the first player in over a decade to average 24 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in a single season (Shaquille O’Neal in 2004).

Davis is already locked in as one of the league’s elite superstars and is heading into what could be a monstrous season for the young stud. This is the first of what should be an absolutely crazy day of NBA Free Agency.
