2. Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Adrian Peterson. This pick is not for the weak of heart, as Peterson missed nearly all of last season after being suspended. The best way to approach this pick is to think of the Adrian Peterson from 2014: a sure-fire top pick in the draft.

Now remember, that was only one year ago and “AP” is in the best shape of his life. In his absence, the Vikings finished 7-9. During this season, they found their new franchise quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater. Safety Harrison Smith and the Vikings defense showed they could hold their own against talented competitors.

The offense built around Peterson is arguably the best it hasĀ ever been and he should be able to shine with them. In my opinion, taking Peterson second is smart, but I would understand if someone would lean towards a Jamaal Charles or a Marshawn Lynch.
