2nd Place- Philadelphia Eagles (10-6)

The Philadelphia Eagles ended last season with a 10-6 record, and some would argue that they’ve gotten worse. The Eagles swapped Nick Foles for Sam Bradford and Lesean McCoy for Kiko Alonso. However, they’ve also added Demarco Murray and Ryan Mathews to replace McCoy and Byron Maxwell to strengthen their secondary.

Their offense will most likely be decently similar to last year’s. They will not feature Murray as they did McCoy. Murray has injury concerns, especially considering his workload from last year. Instead, they will mix Murray, Mathews and passing back Darren Sproles together to create a unique ground attack. Meanwhile. Bradford will be eased in to the offense. With second year receiver Jordan Matthews, rookie Nelson Agholor and talented tight end Zach Ertz, Bradford should have an easy time figuring out the offense. Expect fast paced, exciting offense.

Their defense should be tougher than their defense last year. Starting cornerback Byron Maxwell will bring tough physical coverage while new linebacker Kiko Alonso brings a tough, hard nosed run stopping mentality. When a defense has two players of that caliber, the rest of the players can’t help but take notice. While this defense will undoubtedly be tougher, there is an element of a Chip Kelly defense that just can’t be taken away. The defense will surely be fast paced and play with an insane amount of energy.

The Eagles will be a lot of fun to watch this season. Teams that play fast with lots of energy always are. However, the Eagles just don’t have the talent or the defense to compete with some of the other teams in the NFC. This will give them a solid record, but not a division title.
