3. Paul George
Draft: 2010
Pick: 10th overall
College: Fresno State

Though not being able to put up some of the career numbers that others on this list have, Paul George is surely a superstar in this league. George broke out in his third NBA season, with averages of 17.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game. George won the NBA’s Most Improved Player award that year.

George emerged into an MVP candidate the year after, raising his scoring average to 21.7 and landing the Indiana Pacers with the Eastern Conferences’ best record. George would go on to average 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals over 19 playoff games that saw George lead the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second consecutive year, only to lose to the Miami Heat for the second consecutive year.

In that two year stretch alone, George stood out as one of the league’s top five players at the time. Sadly, that gruesome leg injury George suffered in the Team USA exhibition game had to happen. Something we all remember and kept George out for all but the final six games of the 2014-2015 NBA season; which led to the Pacers missing the playoffs.

George looks to come back at full strength next season, and return to the superstar form that made him into the top five player and NBA star that he was.
