1. Anthony Davis
Draft: 2012
Pick: 1st overall
College: Kentucky

If you weren’t expecting Anthony Davis to top this list, well Mr. T pities you. The Brow is not only the league’s best young player, but arguably the league’s best player behind LeBron James. After being one of if not the best college basketball player of this generation, Davis has fully translated to the NBA and has done nothing but absolutely dominate the league.

Davis had a very impressive sophomore season in the NBA, putting up 20.8 points, 10 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. That’s when the Brow started to make a name for himself, and when people started realizing how good Anthony Davis could be in the NBA. Then, the third year happened.

Davis started off the season with a statement of his greatness; putting up 26 points, 17 rebounds and nine blocks in a win over the Orlando Magic. Davis would go on to average 24.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.9 blocks and 1.5 steals on 53.5% shooting. No player has put up those kind of numbers since Shaquille O’Neal in 2004; a unanimous MVP season for Shaq.

Davis already put up a Player Efficiency Rating over 31 this past season, the youngest player ever to reach a PER over 30. He also trailed only two players with higher single season PER’s (Michael Jordan and Lebron James).

What’s scary about Anthony Davis is that he is only getting better. The Pelicans’ new head coach Alvin Gentry has not only vowed to have New Orleans play with a fast paced offense that will fit Davis’ style better, but he’s had Davis make at least 150 three’s from each corner at every workout. So now the Brow is gonna start making threes? Be prepared for Davis to completely take over the NBA very soon.
