14. Greg Monroe
Draft: 2010
Pick: 7th overall
College: Georgetown

Monroe is an absolute beast, weighing in at 6’11” and 250 lbs. Monroe was Detroit’s first round pick in 2010, and made immediate contributions in the Motor City. Playing in 80 games with 48 starts his rookie season, Monroe averaged 9.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

The next four years, Monroe would post point-rebound stats of 15.4/9.7, 16/9.6, 15.2/9.3 and 15.9/10.2;having to share the post with the monstrous Andre Drummond those final three seasons. That Monroe-Drummond front-court tandem showed to be one of the best in the NBA in terms of putting up monstrous rebounding numbers as well as dominating down-low scoring.

As Detroit continued to struggle year-in and year-out, Monroe became increasingly frustrated with the organization; leading to an announcement that he would leave the team after the final year of his rookie deal (last season) before the season even began. He stuck with that claim, signing with the Milwaukee Bucks in the offseason. Now, on a team stacked with so much athleticism but little size, Monroe will have the paint virtually all to himself next season. This should lead to Monroe potentially putting up 20-10 in Brew-Town.
